Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 August 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Mayanot Pushka. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Mayanot Pushka mobile application and this website (together, the "Service"), operated by the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies ("Mayanot", "we", "us"), a registered non-profit organisation with offices at 28 David Yellin Street, Jerusalem 9128001, Israel.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

Mayanot Pushka is a charitable giving application. It lets you accumulate symbolic "coins" toward a monthly giving goal that you set, and then processes a charitable donation (tzedakah) to Mayanot when that goal is reached.

The Service does not sell any physical or digital product. The only amount ever charged to you is the charitable donation you have chosen to make. There is no subscription fee, membership fee or charge for using the application.

3. Your account

4. Donations and charges

Cancellation and refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Payment processing

Payments are processed by regulated third-party payment providers: HYP for donations processed in Israel, and Stripe for international donations. Your full card details are entered on the provider's secure page and are handled by that provider. Mayanot does not store full card numbers on its servers. Your use of those services is also subject to the respective provider's terms and privacy policy.

6. Tax receipts

Mayanot is a registered non-profit organisation in each of the regions we support, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by the law of the country you select as your tax country. We issue receipts to the email address recorded on your account. It is your responsibility to keep that address current and to select the correct tax country before giving.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to attempt fraudulent, unauthorised or unlawful transactions, to use a payment method you are not entitled to use, to interfere with the operation or security of the Service, or to attempt to gain access to another user's account.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may add, change or discontinue features. We may modify these Terms; where the change is significant, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" basis, and Mayanot is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer under Israeli law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Jerusalem shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
